Jessica's Second Year of Life

1991 - 1992

Not long after Jessica's dad had come back on the scene we decided to get married as he had now joined the army and was going to be based in Bulford in Salisbury. Jess was a very sparky toddler, liked to do things her own way and kept up with her older cousins and also my friends children. Her hair had really grown long, although it was a good length to start with,it now had a curl to it and was long enough to put in all sorts of styles, it was also a lovely shade of red, a really deep colour. People would always stop to look at Jess and compliment her on her lovely hair. Jess took it all in her stride. Shortly after getting back involved with Jessica's dad, i was pregnant again with Naomi. I didn't really worry about having 2 children so close together, i think it was because of my age and because i already loved Jess so much. During this year Jess came on very quickly she was walking, talking and out of nappies before she was even 1. We still lived at my Mom's and didn't really see a lot of Jess's dad as he has training with the army. But i coped well, i was used to looking after Jess on my own. Myself and Jessica's dad got married in the February (1992), at the registry off in Wolverhampton and my parents paid for a small reception at the Conought Hotel. Jess came to the wedding and to the party afterwards. I can remember her running round bery excited and the tables were all low so she kept steeling peoples drinks when they were not paying attention! We also had to take Jess home early as she banged her head quite hard while she was doing all this running about. Shortly after the wedding we decided to move up to Salisbury, Jess was about 14 months old at this point. We were only given a flat so Jess was not able to play out that often as i was now near the end of my pregnancy and was getting very worn out. The one day i can remeber coming into the living room< Jess had got into the loo and took the loo brush pushing it down the toilet with a roll of paper and then ran into the living room swinging it round with wet dirty paper splatting up everything! On the 1st May 1992, Jess now had a sister called Naomi. She loved Na from the start and i could always trust her never to be spiteful to her new sister. She helped feed and bath her sister.
